Osteoscreen 
The usual method of checking bone density is a BMD scan, using either X Ray or ultrasound. OsteoScreen is different: this is a urine test that can tells you whether and how fast you are losing bone (not how much you have lost).

OsteoScreen is an ideal way to find out whether you have a problem with bone loss and a risk of fracture. It can also be used to check whether your nutrition or osteoporosis medication is effective in halting bone loss.

Which test is best?

A BMD scan provides a static measurement of your current bone density by measuring common fracture sites. OsteoScreen gives you your rate of bone loss, a dynamic measurement that tells you the probability for a decrease in BMD if nothing is done to alter your current level of bone breakdown. To get a complete picture of your bone status you should have both tests. Once you are on a programme of nutrition or therapy for your bones, OsteoScreen test is an ideal tool for you and your healthcare practitioner or doctor to monitor whether your programme is working.

Taking the OsteoScreen test is very easy. We send you a complete kit, full instructions, transport box and a pre-paid envelope. All you do is supply your urine sample and send it to the lab. Your results will come to you within 14 days.
